It is with great excitement that I announce that I will be taking over teaching and pool rentals from Hypnobirthing Hamilton.
For many years I have supported families through many styles of mindfulness and hypnosis for birth. What stands out for me with this approach is how inclusive it is. Clients would be more engaged with their surroundings and their partner. It is useful for helping people stay in their power through all birthing options. And people share it has helped them not only for birth but in their regular day to day lives.
When Lara mentioned she wanted to ease out of teaching, I was worried that this unique style would get lost. I began teaching it, and gained an even deeper appreciation for the content. I am so honoured to be able to continue sharing this with families. I had been renting out TENS units, now adding birth pools, means people have more choice bringing comfort to their births.
I look forward to supporting you in creating an easier, more peaceful, comfortable birth. - Michelle Haché
After attending births for several years, I stumbled upon the possibilities of hypnobirthing, and in 2007, I trained to teach it, giving life to Hypnobirthing Hamilton. As I found my feet as a childbirth educator, I came to see that my original fascination with this non-pharmaceutical way to reduce physical pain in labour was valid, but hypnobirthing’s power to connect people to peace, resilience and resourcefulness was even more of its value. After learning much from teaching another’s curriculum for six years, I developed my own recordings and content, and this change marked a turning point in the business. The expanded material meant that more families could benefit — every choice was welcome, and when choices were taken away, those folks had a safe place to still find power, too. With the beautiful support of clients, colleagues and allied professionals, I’ve had the joy of serving thousands of families, and I am profoundly grateful to have met so many wonderful people. There sure are so many remarkable parents and care providers in this world.
However, the only constant in life is change, and change in my world has involved retiring from attending births and providing postpartum doula services for almost three years now, shifting my focus to providing counselling and therapy services. It’s now time for me to fully let go of childbirth education, and the stellar Michelle Haché of Birth Beginnings is adopting my baby. She’s been teaching my curriculum for the past year and a bit, and she’s going to continue providing hypnobirthing classes for our area from her location in Burlington. Michelle brings a wealth of experience as a childbirth educator and birth doula for over twenty years, plus she’s a skilled reflexologist, and she’ll also be taking over birth pool rentals in addition to continuing to rent TENS units.
While bittersweet, this change is in right order. I couldn’t imagine anyone other than Michelle adopting my baby, and I’m so grateful for all the community that Hypnobirthing Hamilton has allowed me to participate in over the years. Thank you for sharing your joys and sorrows, your power and vulnerabilities, your magnificent humanity.
P.S. I’m going to do my best to make use of @larastewartpankorsw to stay connected on IG. Follow me there for more ways to get through this thing called life.
